Second La Roche Posay for anyone who finds that sunscreen aggravates their acne! It’s the only one I’ve found that doesn’t cause me to break out (and I’ve tried a lot!)
Idk why I’m so water-averse. I could literally be on death’s doorstep and someone could be like “hey drink this glass of water, you’ll get better.” And I’d still be like all set. 😂
this was useful, thanks for putting it together! :))
my additions:
- figure out the brow shape that suits you
- figure out whether you're warm or cool toned
my subtractions:
- "Adding electrolytes so you actually retain it." - your body knows how to retain water. you don't need electrolytes unless you're doing really really hard work outs and hitting the sauna a lot (or hungover):)
So happy you found this useful! Such good additions. Brows truly shape your whole face. And I completely agree with you on electrolytes. They’re definitely over-marketed right now. I was mostly sharing what women kept mentioning in the comments, but you explained it perfectly :)
i love a treatment and will honestly try anything at least once (have sworn off colonics after one interesting week of back to back sessions). but numero uno for me-not drinking alcohol. it’s like a secret super power. no judgement toward those who employ the full phalanx. but for me less (or none) is more and then everything else is just the edit.
Couldn’t love this more! I feel the same - always up for trying anything once! I’m literally laughing out loud at your colonic comment 😂 Not drinking alcohol seriously is a super power!!! I also feel my best with zero alcohol. It’s amazing how literally everything improves without it!
Gut health. Functional medicine. HRT. It's all the glow up. Investing in health NOW (or yesterday) is better than waiting for a crisis. My skins redness was what I thought was genetic - it resolved when I wasn't even trying to fix it by just focusing on healing my gut and eating nutritious food. Magic.

I read all of them, all of the tips. I think the hardest part is to insist. For me, drinking water after I get up(I have persisted in it for over thirty years, and now I have also passed it on to my children), 16+8 hours is hard for me during the workday, 10000 steps per day, hmm, I can't insist on it. For beauty, cleanser, moisturizing water, moisturizing cream, that's all, but I'm considering adding the eye cream or eye mask. Over 35, the eyes really tend to show signs of aging easily.
I enjoyed it. But halfway through, "natural beauty" might be more for me LOL
So happy to hear you enjoyed this, Amelia! Haha, right?! I am definitely picking and choosing from this list!
I totally get it! Trying to go the natural route over here as well!!
my dad always says start from the inside and what you’re putting into your body. thats the most important part. we are like a plant not like a car.
I love this, Lidiya! I agree. How we are fueling ourselves shows up in our skin, energy and how we feel!
Yes to sunscreen.
47, been wearing it every day since I was 14.
Not everything lives up to the hype,
this does.
That’s incredible!! What’s your top sunscreen recommendation?!
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen SPF 60 is my top recommendation. But I will alternate with Corx Vitamin E SPF 50 if my face is feeling dry.
I will check both of those out! Thank you!! 🫶🏻
I also love the La Roche Posay anthelios spf 50 serum. It’s pretty thin and goes on well over moisturizer! I wear it everyday.

Love to hear this! This is next on my list to try!
Ooo thank you! I need to check this one out too! 🫶🏻

Me too! I can literally be lying in a dark room with a dehydration headache and still turn my nose up at water

😂😂 at least you acknowledge that you are water-adverse!! I struggle to drink enough water, so I feel you!
I’m team no botox/filler as well! 34 and my skin looks better now than in did in my 20s!!
Love this so much, Elizabeth!!! What’s the biggest change you’ve made between your 20s and now that you think has made your skin look its best?!
Several things I think have helped! Wrote about my entire routine here! https://onmyvanity.substack.com/p/mid-30s-no-botox-no-filler-heres?r=2k03ht&utm_medium=ios
Thanks for sharing this!! 🫶🏻

I know, I definitely wasn't meaning to correct you!! they really are the craze now.
Omg no worries at all! I'm happy you touched on this in case others were not aware!!

I believe and especially after reading this that “unhinged” is sometimes where the best kept secrets lie. <3
I totally agree, Elizabeth! It was so fun to read and compile all of the best secrets and tips!

Yes!! The tiny, consistent habits add up! I try to re-read his book once a year!!

I think the key is finding the things that work for each of us!
I enjoyed reading every part of this article. The message was clear, inspiring, and full of wisdom. Looking forward to more content like this.
This was such a valuable read. I love how you explained the topic in a simple but powerful way. Definitely gave me a new perspective.
A great summary and liked how most of it about consistency and healthier choices!
So happy you enjoyed this! Yes, I think you really summed up the most important themes!!
